Susu CAM1 — auto capture

Susu

susu — black cat

Black fur, with a small white patch on the chest.
Round amber eyes, always watching something.

Endlessly curious — pressing a nose against the camera lens,
curling up in a cardboard box,
staring at the mountains through the window.

Sometimes walks across the keyboard.

The House

A new detached house in a highland city, somewhere in Japan.
White walls, birch wood flooring, high ceilings.
A large south-facing window with sheer white curtains,
and snow-capped mountains visible to the southwest.

An open wooden staircase runs along the east wall.
Outside, a terrace and a lawn garden with a Yamaboushi tree.
Inside, a cardboard box lined with a towel serves as a cat bed,
and food and water bowls sit on the floor.
Other than that — almost nothing.

The food bowl is always refilled,
and the litter box is kept clean.
Someone seems to be taking care of the cat,
but they have never appeared on camera.

The mountains outside the window look slightly different each day.
The ridgeline doesn't quite match yesterday's,
and sometimes there's a faint band of light in the daytime sky.

The floor plan gets vague sometimes.
The number of stairs changes,
or an unfamiliar room appears on camera.
The cat doesn't seem to mind.

One day, a white cat appeared outside the window — where no cat should be.
Where exactly this house is, no one knows for certain.
Perhaps this place is just slightly —
connected to somewhere else.

The Cameras

Several fixed cameras are installed in the house.
Living room, near the kitchen, the garden.
They capture images automatically, several times a day.

Who installed them is unknown.
The cat seems to be aware of the cameras,
and occasionally peers into the lens.

Footage from these cameras is published periodically on X.
Some inconsistencies have been observed. The cause is under investigation.
